Griffin Hospital Web Site Receives Two Awards

DERBY, CT - eHealthcare Strategy & Trends has recognized Griffin Hospital's web site with two Gold Awards for Best Site Design and Best Employee Recruitment in its sixth annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards. Web sites were judged based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compared with others in the organization's classification, hospitals under 200 beds. Nearly 1,200 web sites were reviewed.
Griffin Hospital redesigned its web site this year to make it more user friendly and to add content and a Performance Indicators Section. Griffin Hospital became one of only a few hospitals in the country to report CMS/Medicare Clinical Indicators, Infection Rates, Patient Satisfaction, Community Survey and operating performance data on its web site.
In a report published in July 2005 "The State-of the-Art of Online Hospital Public Reporting" sponsored by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Delmarva Foundation, Griffin Hospital was one only five hospitals and forty-six other health care web sites recognized for publishing performance information on their web sites.
Attracting the most visitors is the Employment Opportunities section which lists available open positions and allows for applying on line. Griffin Hospital hires more employees through applications submitted through the web site than from any other source. The second most popular section is the Patient and Visitor Services section which provides information about all services offered. Griffin Hospital has more than 30,000 visitors to its web site monthly.
