All of us at the Griffin Hospital Development Fund would like to congratulate all the Women Making a Difference in the Valley Nominees -- especially the four uncommon women who've been personally involved with the Campaign for Breast Wellness:

  • Joyce Barcley, Campaign Committee member and Housy One-Miler Swim Committee member
  • Daun Barrett, Director of the Valley Parish Nurse program at Griffin Hospital and Campaign committee member
  • Kate Cosgrove, Founder, Women's Health Initiative
  • Susan Coyle, Co-chair with Pat Tarasovic of Griffin's Campaign for Breast Wellness and Chair of The Valley Goes Pink

These remarkable women have made it their personal mission to educate the community about breast cancer and the importance of early detection in saving lives.  Though their fundraising efforts, their personal and professional outreach to the community, and their commitment to building awareness and supporting local breast wellness causes, they have advanced the health of people across the Valley.  How fortunate we are to have these women inspiring all of us with their vision and leadership.

Come to the Women Making a Difference in the Valley Luncheon on October 6 at noon at Grassy Hill Lodge and take part in the celebration.  All proceeds benefit a great cause:  the Griffin Hospital/Valley Breast Care Fund, established in 2001 to ensure that no person, regardless of age or socio-economic condition is denied screening mammograms or diagnostic testing for breast cancer.
