DERBY, CT - A resident physician at Griffin Hospital won top honors at a recent oral presentation and poster competition. Dr. Padmini Ranasinghe's poster, "Prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression Six Months after the Tsunami in Sri Lanka," was selected as best research poster at the American College of Physicians Connecticut Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting held on Oct. 28. Dr. Ranasinghe has been selected to present her poster at the national meeting of the American College of Physicians that will be held in April. She was awarded an honorarium toward expenses to attend that meeting.

Dr. Ranasinghe is a fourth year resident in Griffin Hospital's Combined Internal Medicine / Preventive Medicine program and a candidate for the Master of Public Health degree at Yale University.
