DERBY, CT (November 10, 2011) - Bariatric surgery patients can lose weight especially quickly after Gastric Bypass or Sleeve Gastrectomy. These patients, however, are not always able or willing to go shopping for new clothes every few weeks as their body is changing, and often end up wearing clothing that does not fit properly. This can affect body image, self-esteem and confidence.
To help bariatric patients bridge this gap between the time of surgery and reaching their healthy weight -- when it often makes more sense purchase a new wardrobe -- Griffin Bariatrics has assembled a "Clothes Closet" with men’s and women’s clothing in barely worn or new condition, which has been donated by bariatric patients and hospital staff and family members. The Closet is stocked with coats, professional clothing, casual wear, accessories, and evening attire.
All of the items in the Griffin Bariatrics Clothes Closet, located on the first floor of Griffin Hospital,...
