Dear Patrick Charmel,

I was admitted to Griffin Hospital with a medical emergency, and was the recipient of skilled treatment and compassionate care. From the time I entered the emergency room to my discharge the next day, I was treated with respect and great care. My husband, son and his fiancée were welcomed, encouraged to ask questions, and made to feel comfortable being there.

I was attended to in a reasonable amount of time, despite a very busy emergency room. Pain and nausea medication were administered to make me comfortable, and thorough test were completed to determine the cause of my pain. It was my appendix, and that evening I underwent surgery. The doctor on duty, the nurses, and the aides were outstanding. Dr. Rishi Ramlogan performed my surgery. I was confident in his skill and his humor put me at ease. He returned a phone call with me promptly when I had a problem post-operatively. The anesthesiologist and attending staff were excellent.

I am so happy I chose to go to Griffin, rather than the hospitals in New Haven. Both of my parents experienced deplorable treatment at those two large hospitals. Please commend the hospital staff, and feel free to share this letter with the hospital administration. Thank you for promoting a humane model of medical and integrative patient care.

I write to express my heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and helpers who were on duty in the Emergency Room when I was brought in by ambulance after dislocating my artificial hip. I am sure I was not the best-tempered patient when even the slightest move sent considerable pain coursing through my body, but, nevertheless, everyone treated me with the greatest respect and kindness and no one could have asked for better.

I also wish to commend the Operating Room doctors and staff whose calm efficiency and expertise were constantly in evidence, and who were able to put me back together and send me home the same day. I am very grateful indeed to them all and I thank them most sincerely.

Griffin Hospital is an exceptional institution made so by the exceptional people who staff it.

Good afternoon. I have just come from Dr. Dobular and Griffin's wound clinic where I am being treated for venous statis leg ulcers. I had the help today of a future nurse-doctor-whatever. Having done private duty nursing myself for many years I can emphatically state that this young lady goes above and beyond helping people, she is Courteous, Encouraging, Respectful, always with a smile and a helping hand from assisting with your clothing to fixing a wheelchair. I just felt compelled to let the Hospital know how lucky they are to have her (Tammy) working for them.

I want to say a hearty thank you to all the staff that worked on N2 floor and those that made my stay in room 234 so good. All the Nurses were great and I would like to say even the housekeeping lady Flora was a great help in getting me up and around after my surgery.
