HAMDEN & WALLINGFORD, CT (November 3, 2011) - Rates of childhood obesity, and related risk factors for chronic disease, are at unprecedented levels, and rising throughout the U.S. and here in Connecticut. To help reverse this trend, Quinnipiac University and the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center have been partnering with Connecticut schools in Hamden and Wallingford to bring nutrition education and physical activity into elementary school classrooms. This project has been supported by the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, LLC.

CDW-G Wins 2011 Corporate Cup Title

DERBY, CT (July 7, 2011): CDW-G of Shelton is the 2011 Community Corporate Cup Champion following a very strong finish that included victories in the final two events and three of the last four Corporate Cup events. CDW-G got off to a great start in the very first event when Evelyn Allen rolled a perfect game and CDW-G won their first of four event titles. They also took first place in the Run/Walk, Wiffleball, and the Healthy Team competitions. PerkinElmer , also of Shelton, finished a strong second this year after winning the Corporate Cup for the previous four years. They managed to capture individual titles in Orienteering, Run/Walk and Mini-Golf. BIC Incorporated, also of Shelton, finished in third place for the second straight year.
