PET/CT

We are excited and proud to announce that Griffin Hospital has obtained the capability to provide the latest technological advancement in PET imaging which is PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion Imaging). PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion Imaging) allows for the physiologic assessment of the human body with an anatomical overlay.

PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion) Imaging is an extremely sensitive and accurate diagnostic imaging modality that uses radiopharmaceuticals (drugs that include a radioactive component) to evaluate physiologic processes in the human body. PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion) Imaging is especially useful for oncologic, neurologic, and cardiac evaluations. PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion Imaging) scheduled outpatient examinations are available on Tuesdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Griffin has acquired state-of-the-art PET equipment that has the capability of performing both PET and CT examinations simultaneously. This newest innovation allows for PET Imaging to more accurately pinpoint abnormalities in the human body, thereby allowing physicians to diagnostically evaluate conditions and diseases as never before.

We are proud of the fact that the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) recognizes our PET/CT Department. Our PET/CT (Hybrid/Fusion Imaging) Department is another example of how Griffin Hospital is changing the face of healthcare.
