Health Empowerment Series

The Health Empowerment Series is a free lecture series featuring discussions by physicians and other healthcare professionals about a variety of important topics. All talks are free and open to the public. Please check our calendar for current schedules.

Health Screenings

Griffin Hospital's Mobile Health Resource Center offers screenings throughout the Valley Community. Just look for the blue van!

Integrative Medicine Center Fireside Chats

The Integrative Medicine Center at Griffin Hospital (IMC) holds free monthly "Fireside Chats" on subjects related to integrative healthcare. The "chats" are conducted by the IMC clinicians and held at the IMC, which is housed in the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital. Please check our calendar for current schedules.

Mini-Med School

This free program is specifically designed for the layperson with little or no medical background, providing a unique opportunity to gain a greater understanding of how the human body works, insight into common disorders of the various organ systems, as well as information about disease prevention. Each weekly session is be divided into two hour-long presentations on different medical topics with a refreshment break between presentations and ample time for questions and answers.  The Mini-Med School program is usually offered each Fall. Support Groups

Griffin Hospital offers a number of support groups for those dealing with illness, loss, or stressful life changes.  Please check our calendar for current schedules.

Training Workshops

Meetings and workshops are offered to the community and to healthcare professionals to learn or enhance their skills. Reiki, Soft Touch, and Therapeutic Touch are some of the usual offerings. Workshops are held periodically throughout the year - please check our calendar for current offerings.

Weight-Loss Surgery Seminars

Free weight-loss seminars are held several times each month for those considering weight-loss surgery. Support groups and classes are also offered to those who have already undergone weight-loss surgery. See the Griffin Bariatrics Web site for more information.
