In general, the treatment of breast cancer can involve using any or all of four therapeutic options:
Most of the time, if a patient requires more than one of these therapies, they occur in the order that they are listed above (surgery first, then chemotherapy, then radiation therapy, and lastly, hormonal therapy). Your care team will potentially consist of a surgeon, a medical oncologist, and/or a radiation oncologist, as well as all the staff who work with them.
