Patients at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital
have been receiving a little extra comfort thanks to a Shelton woman.
Elisa Giorgio, a Shelton resident and independent Thirty-One Gifts consultant, donated 55 chemo comfort bags to the Center in order to help patients recover from their treatments. The attractive bags were purchased by friends and family of Giorgio, A&S Nathan Heating & Cooling, as well as members of the Shelton Moms (Facebook) community group. The bags contain encouraging cards designed by Girl Scout Troop 10 in Ansonia, Star Inc., and Feels Like Home Childcare along with comfort items donated by Giorgio including blankets, puzzle books, and tissues.
“These bags have lifted the spirits of our patients and we can’t thank Elisa enough for this wonderful gift to The Center for Cancer Care,” said Lori Murphy, director of Radiation Oncology.
