Griffin Health’s Valley Goes Pink initiative will host its Second Annual Par for Pink golf fundraiser on Tues., May 23 at Hop Brook Golf Course in Naugatuck.

Griffin Health opened The Hewitt Observation Unit at Griffin Hospital to expand the hospital’s capacity to care for patients who require an extended period of assessment and evaluation before a determination can be made whether to admit the individual for inpatient acute care or to discharge the patient.

The Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers, at 300 Seymour Avenue, Suite 206 in Derby, is accepting applications for the 2023 winter semesters of its Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant (MA), and Patient Care Technician (PCT) programs. The accelerated CNA and MA programs starts Jan. 9, and Phlebotomy and PCT will begin Jan. 10.

Griffin Health is helping individuals get a fresh perspective on health and well-being with its Wellness for Life program this December.

Griffin Hospital will host an AARP Driver Safety Program from 8:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 3 at the hospital.

In recognition of the Great American Smokeout, Griffin Health will host a virtual open house for its free smoking cessation program on Thurs., Nov. 17 from 12-1 p.m.

In recognition of National Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Griffin Health will have special hours for lung cancer screening and will offer free one-on-one phone calls with lung cancer specialists this November.
