Griffin Physician Excited to Be Back in Shelton Caring for His Hometown

Growing up in the Valley, Shaun Najarian developed a desire to help others in his community. His passion took him out of the state and overseas as he pursued a career as a physician. Now, he’s back in his hometown and excited to repay his community for instilling that drive to care for other’s wellbeing.

Griffin Hospital to Host AARP Driver Safety Program Dec. 7

Griffin Hospital will host an AARP Driver Safety Program from 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 7 at the hospital. The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest refresher course for drivers. While the course is geared toward drivers age 50 and older, the course is open to everyone.

Direct anterior hip replacement patients generally experience less pain along with a shorter length of stay in the hospital and faster recovery.

Griffin Wound Healing Center to Host Free Diabetic Foot Screening Nov. 15

On Fri., Nov. 15 from 5-7 p.m.,The Comprehensive Wound Care Center at Griffin Hospital will host a free diabetic foot screening event at the hospital. Each screening will take about 10 minutes and will include consultation with a podiatrist if needed.

Griffin, SafeKids Offer Child Passenger Safety Training

Griffin Health and SafeKids Greater Naugatuck Valley are offering free training on how to make sure children are safe when travelling in cars. Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition Coordinator Cathi Kellett, MA CPST-I, SN-I, will host “Child Passenger Safety 101” on Wed., Nov. 6 at Griffin Hospital, 130 Division St., Derby. There will be a session from 6-7 p.m. on general child passenger safety and a session focused on passengers with special needs from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
