Cash gifts are one of the most common and flexible ways to support Griffin Hospital. Donors who itemize deductions may be eligible for a charitable income tax deduction for gifts made during the tax year.
Checks can be made payable to the Griffin Hospital Development Fund and mailed to:
130 Division Street, Derby, CT 06418.
Gifts can also be made online through our secure site.
If you are age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to make a direct gift from your IRA to Griffin Hospital in a simple, tax-efficient way. A QCD may provide several benefits:
Many donors find QCDs to be an effective and meaningful way to support causes they care about while achieving important financial goals.
Donating appreciated assets such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can provide significant tax advantages. By contributing appreciated securities directly, donors may avoid capital gains taxes that could otherwise apply if the assets were sold. In many cases, donors may also be eligible for a charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the securities. Please click here for stock transfer instructions.
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) offers a convenient and flexible way to support Griffin Hospital. If you have established a DAF through the Valley Community Foundation or any other community foundation, a financial institution, or commercial investment firm, you can recommend a grant to the Griffin Hospital Development Fund. Please use our Tax Identification Number (EIN): 06-0647014.
Many supporters choose to fulfill their charitable commitments over time through a pledge schedule tailored to their financial goals and preferences. We would be happy to work with you to create a giving plan that best meets your needs.
