The 17th Annual 5K Walk-Run to benefit the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital invites everyone to lace up their sneakers and take meaningful steps toward advancing cancer care on Sept. 20.

Thanks to the support of Presenting Sponsor D’Addario Auto Group, this year’s 5K Walk-Run will help bring innovative, person-centered radiation oncology technology to Griffin’s cancer center.

“On behalf of D’Addario Auto Group and the D’Addario Family, we’re proud to support the Griffin 5K Walk-Run,” said Tom D’Addario, president of D’Addario Auto Group. “This event reflects the best of the Valley — neighbors coming together to support one another. Let’s have a great turnout and show our commitment to the future of cancer care in our community.”

Held at the Center for Cancer Care, 300 Seymour Ave., Derby, this non-competitive, family-friendly event is for walkers and runners who take part in honor of a loved one, for a cause, to improve their health and fitness, and to show support for their community.

The event begins with day-of registration at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. Registration is $35 and includes a t-shirt. The registration fees will increase by $5 after Sept. 8. Pre-registration is encouraged at www.griffinhealth.org/5k.

“Your participation directly supports cancer patients and families in the Valley by enhancing access to advanced treatment options at Griffin,” said Laura Howell, director of the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital. “The Walk-Run is a signature event that brings together more than 400 community members each year to benefit the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, a trusted source of support, healing, and hope for those facing a cancer diagnosis.”

In addition to D’Addario Auto Group, several generous community partners have already signed on to support the Walk-Run, including Jefferson Radiology, The Edge Fitness in Derby, Masonic Charity Foundation, CED, Teamsters Local Union 1150, and In-Home Angels.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to show their support for exceptional person-centered cancer care in the Valley while gaining visibility and goodwill. Visit www.griffinhealth.org/5k for more details about sponsorships.

Participants can also purchase a commemorative sign for $100 to honor or memorialize a loved one that will be displayed at The Center for Cancer Care. For more information, contact Laura Howell at lhowell@griffinhealth.org or 203-732-1263.
