Patient Letters & Comments

We regularly receive letters from former patients, their families, and friends describing their experience and the care received at Griffin Hospital. We look forward to these letters and the stories they tell about our how our employees, physicians and volunteers made their experience at Griffin Hospital unique and more humanistic. Whenever possible we share these letters with all of our staff and above all, with those mentioned. The letters capture the essence and compassion of the personalized patient-centered care we provide and further reinforce and remind us that we are an organization whose main goal is to heal people and to provide comfort to family members and friends.

The following are some of the letters received over that past several years. Some of the names of the senders and/or patients have been removed for privacy reasons.

“I want to express my extreme gratitude for the care I received at your hospital. From the moment I went in to have an echocardiogram to the time of discharge, every experience with every department was great. I have been a nurse for 35 years and I have never seen hospital staff like yours. From housekeeping to dietary, nursing, valet and all the other departments, I was impressed. I will recommend Griffin hospital to everyone going forward. Thank you for a wonderful experience despite the fact that I was hospitalized.”

“I write this letter to thank you for the experience I recently had with Cathi Kellett and the Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley Coalition program. My son’s femur broke and we were at a loss for how to get him anywhere without a car seat that would accommodate his cast. Cathi and her associate Adelle fit us in to their already tight schedule. Unfortunately, due to the size of my son’s cast, he didn’t fit into most of the seats they had. They were undeterred and brought out another option. After more than an hour of hard work, they had installed and fit the car seat to my son’s exact needs."

Your hospital offered our family a way to continue to enrich our toddler’s life throughout his six-week cast ordeal. We went to the zoo, the beach, took a ferry ride to Gillette’s Castle, and maintained our normal routine. What could have been a miserable six weeks turned into a super fun start to our summer. I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to Griffin Health, Cathi and Adelle, and your community, for making car seats available for kids with special needs. Thank you so very, very much.”

Nicole and Artina in PACU went above and beyond and that demonstrates their compassion and their concerned for me as a patient.
