The tool utilizes a bright light, which increases visibility and allows the surgeon to focus in on the problem area. This more precise access allows the surgeon to remove only the cancer and leave the healthy tissue surrounding it in place. Invuity, the developer of Hidden Scar Surgery, has proven that the location of the incision and the direct access “minimizes incisions and hides scars without compromising clinical results.” The procedure is covered by health insurance at no additional cost.
