Griffin Health caregiver Jessica Nunez, of Seymour, was recently named to the 2025 Westfair Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list for her leadership and devotion as a patient-centered healthcare professional, and for her commitment to her community.
The 40 under 40 recognition is given to individuals between the ages of 25 and 40 years old who are leaders in Fairfield County’s business growth.
Nunez has been a caregiver at Griffin Health for more than 16 years, starting as a CT technologist before being promoted to CT Scan supervisor and then to manager at Griffin Health Quarry Walk Imaging and Diagnostics in Oxford. She is a registered technologist in radiology and certified in computed tomography.
“Jessica leads with a hands-on-approach, balancing operations with direct patient care,” the nomination for Nunez stated. “Whether managing daily workflows, mentoring her team, drawing blood, taking X-Rays or performing CT scans, Jessica believes in leading by example.”
As co-chair of the Griffin Health Radiation Dose Committee for several years, Nunez led initiatives to enhance radiation safety. Her commitment to patient safety also earned her a certificate from the Connecticut Hospital Association’s “Safety Starts with Me” program.
A graduate of the Leadership Greater Valley, an 8-week community leadership program sponsored by the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, Nunez has demonstrated strong leadership qualities in a variety of ways, and is an active member of the Seymour Community. She is a founding board member of Seymour Food 2 Kids where she drives awareness and engagement to fight childhood food insecurity, serves on the Board of George Hummel Little League, and she is a committee lead of the Bungay School Rebuild Alliance and a senior capstone mentor at Oxford High School. In addition to her local involvement, Nunez also supports women nationwide through online mentorship and reflective leadership tools, empowering others to grow personally and professionally.
