The Community Health Resource Center (HRC) at Griffin Hospital is a traditional free lending library that provides an array of medical and health information. The HRC contains a collection of easy-to-read health and lifestyle related materials for patients and their families to become better informed and make more educated decisions about the various treatment options available to them.
The HRC also has a children's area, which contains stories about health as well as ones that are just for fun. Our collection holds a delightful array of children's books, including seasonal books, topical books and favorites such as Dr. Seuss, Mercer Mayer, and Lemony Snicket, just to name a few. Children can read them here, or borrow them to bring home.
Anyone from the community can use the HRC to educate themselves on ways to enhance their well-being, prevent illness and play an active role in decisions about their health. It is located just off the main lobby of Griffin Hospital, with satellite centers on each patient floor for patient and visitor use. Patients and consumers who would like assistance researching a particular health topic can talk with Griffin's Health Resource Center Librarians.
