Dare to Care is a program that was adapted and revised by Griffin employees from a National motivational core action value program called Never Fear Never Quit.  Dare To Care presents a roadmap of living with attention to 12 Core Action Values to help you to increase happiness and success at work and at home with a focus on personal leadership effectiveness.  This program is offered annually to interested Griffin Hospital employees as a gift from administration.  Our first graduation group called themselves Griffin Hospital Sparkplugs, a name that has remained through the last 10+ years!  The Sparkplugs commit to one session a month, not only to enhance their lives at home and at work, but to take the concept back to their co-workers and eventually to the community.  The message was to laugh, learn, live and be happy.

The program is based on Twelve Core Action Values: Authenticity, Courage, Perseverance, Vision, Mission, Enthusiasm, Focus, Awareness, Service, Integrity, Faith and Leadership. Each month, starting with January, one of the values is presented to the Sparkplug group by a team of Griffin staff that offered to be facilitators. Dare to Care sessions will include discussions, activities, personal stories of accomplishment using the Core Action Values in daily living and simple assignments served to spark the group with fresh ideas and personal accomplishment. The Sparkplug group, by example, expanded the Planetree philosophy in addition to encouraging others like themselves to expand their personal individuality.  All interaction at the sessions is voluntary, therefore if one chooses to just listen, that is fine.
