Bariatric Surgery

Griffin Hospital established its comprehensive weight loss surgery program, Griffin Bariatrics, to provide a medical solution for patients with more substantial weight loss needs. The long-term success enjoyed by Griffin Bariatrics patients is a result of excellent medical care, including the latest minimally invasive surgical procedures, combined with access to a full range of multidisciplinary services that have been assembled to support them before, during, and after their surgery.

We’re proud to be a MBSAQIP® Accredited Center – meaning ours is one of the best in the country. More information about Griffin Bariatrics, our patient-centered approach to weight loss surgery, and support services is available on the Griffin Bariatrics web site. We look forward to seeing you at a FREE seminar soon!

Bariatric Support Group

Griffin Bariatrics support groups are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month to address many pre and post-surgery issues including motivation, challenging negative and self-sabotaging behaviors, body image, depression, addiction issues, and more. In addition, support groups will make you feel like you are not alone.
You will hear about other support group members’ experiences, which likely will be very similar to yours. Hearing about problems you may be facing through somebody else’s experience is not only comforting but will help you solve these problems together. You can also get personal advice about successful strategies from our support staff and other successful weight loss surgery patients.

The support group is available in-person or virtual. Please contact our Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kelly Miller at kmmiller@griffinhealth.org for more information.
